 it all appears to be up and running smoothly now,just working on adding an odd page here and there but feel free to go have a nosey in the mean time and see whats what. Most of the bugs seem to have been sorted now,ive not stumbled across anymore,touch wood.

new photoshop tricks

Evening one and all.
Just wanted to a do a quick post really, first just to update the blog and second because my fingers are too cold to be hitting these keys for too long haha.
This is just a post to show what ive been upto over the weekend,i come across a 'light technique' in photoshop so thought id try it out. There's still alot of work to be done on the end result, the image requires a lot of blending but im generally fairly happy with it once ive tidied it all up. Going to have another play around with it later tonight i think. Got some news on the freelance job front too which ill post up later......again not now because my fingers are way too cold. Anyway heres what ive been playing with.

Evening one and all
well the website is now finally up and running,after lots of sketching, tweaking and playing around with different ideas ive reached my climax...so to speak.
im relatively happy with the site and the overall look of it. Its pretty much exactly what i wanted from the site. It fits in well with my style and the original illustrative nature of the business cards. The colours seem to work really well with one another too,the boldness of the colours make it really striking and in my opinion successful. I think the outdoor theme works well throughout the website and kind of works back to the 'somethingfresh' theme and site name. I think my favorite part of the website is the playful side to it, its not a website that takes itself too seriously which i think is a big danger in some portfolio sites.

There are sections of the site that need a little tweaking. For example ive noticed the site has some Internet explorer display issues that i still need to resolve and look at and also the composition of the first main screen with all the animals on, i think ill revisit that and see what i could alter. Ive also considered some sound to the site so i intend to have a play around with that and see if it would sit right and how it would work when switching pages. But all in all im happy with it.....but i still want to do some fine tuning so stay tuned for that one.

Does size matter?

Well if it does this post could be doomed from from the off. This is only a short post to give you all a heads up that the website is almost complete. Im aiming for an upload day of sunday so stay tuned for that. Ive just upped the pressure by telling you its on its way haha. Anyway thats it, and heres a look at one of the more simple pages. bon a parte

the hills are alive

Afternoon all.
Just thought id post a quick update on where im at and what the sites looking like. As i mentioned last time out the sites going for a complete revamp and a huge turnaround to the original design.
At first i wasnt sure how it was going to look or how it was going to work,but i went ahead with it anyhow and so far im pretty happy with the results. Ive got the homepage pretty much where i want it to be and so now its a case of fine tuning it and altering bits here and there. In terms of the rest of the site its coming along quite nicely. The only major stumbling block ive reached is the portfolio section itself. Im not exactly sure how im going to display my examples of work so for now thats on hold. I want to try and keep it quite animated/cartoonish to keep with the rest of the site. Thinking along the lines of lakes and hillsides etc, just something that is fresh and 'outdoorsy' to keep it all along the same lines. Back to the drawing board for awhile i guess. In other news im off to buy myself a new macbook this afternoon,had this one a good few years now so its time to treat myself to a new Apple, pretty excited, geeky i know but i dont care :-). Anyway heres a picture of how the sites currently looking. Could all change yet but i kind of like it

Monkey chews own arm off

Ok a slight lie but youve starting reading so you may as well just carry on and finish the post.
Well its been a week down the line into revamping my website and it was going well. That was until i completly decided to alter the direction i was taking and begin down another route. 'Madness' i hear you cry. Well not really. The reason behind this turn around was down to my business cards. These have already been designed and printed and are in a very illustrative/animated style so i didnt think pursuing the route of a modern patterned website would tie in too well. So now, well as of yesterday ive been going down a more illustrative path with the website, i wont reveal too much just yet its still early days but ill stick a picture up for you to look at to give you a peak as to how it may look behind the scenes at the moment. Be good to hear your feedback and thoughts? Am i doing the right thing in relating the business cards to the site or would it have been good to show both sides to my arsenal?

Pulp Fiction Typography Animation

Was just trawling through the internet looking for different fonts and different type styles i could use for my website and i stumbled across this little gem. Definatly worth a look if you get a spare minute. I think its really well presented and really well made. Good work
